Meta Platforms (META) is constructing its 30th data center in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, marking a strategic expansion of its AI infrastructure. The $1 billion project will create over 100 permanent jobs and employ 1,000 construction workers, reinforcing the region's status as a tech hub.

The facility is specifically designed to support advanced AI research, leveraging Beaver Dam's reliable infrastructure and skilled workforce. Meta will invest an additional $200 million in energy infrastructure upgrades, including substations and transmission lines, while donating $15 million to local energy assistance programs.

Community initiatives include Data Center Action Grants for schools and a partnership with Ducks Unlimited. This development underscores Big Tech's accelerating demand for compute capacity to power generative AI and large language models.
